Read the Antietam Prologue Free

The Prologue to Antietam opens on the Plain at West Point in July 1860. The hats are still in the air.

From there it moves to Fort Mason, Texas. Then it moves to Washington City. Three places. Three men. A country that is starting to split.

Who you will meet

  • Andrew McAllister graduates from West Point and takes survey duty in Washington.
  • Nathaniel McAllister is Andrew’s older brother. He serves with the Second Cavalry in Texas.
  • Captain James Tanner is their close friend. He is still choosing his path.
